Yesteryear
We had a two story house. I remember when I was probably in third or fourth grade, I stood at the top of the stairs and jumped…and thumped all the way down.
My mother came running, drying her hands on a kitchen towel. “What in the he** are you doing?” she screeched. It was the first and only time I ever heard my mother curse.
